IETTL has reached an important milestone, with 401 assessments now completed since the organisation delivered its first Thermal Insulation Level 2 Operative End-Point Assessment.
The first assessment marked a significant moment for both IETTL and the wider thermal insulation industry. TICA’s training facility in Darlington, widely regarded as the home of thermal insulation, was transformed to host the four-day assessment period.
The assessment included a two-day practical skills element within the TICA workshop, giving apprentices the opportunity to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and behaviours they had developed throughout their apprenticeship.
For the apprentices taking part, the assessment represented the final stage of their apprenticeship journey and an opportunity to prove that they had reached the professional standards required to work within the thermal insulation industry.
Since that first assessment, IETTL has continued to evolve and develop its approach. What began as a new assessment process has grown into an established and important part of the apprenticeship pathway, supporting hundreds of apprentices as they progress into skilled employment.
Reaching 401 completed assessments demonstrates the progress that has been made since those first candidates entered the TICA workshop. It also reflects the hard work and commitment of the apprentices, employers, training teams, assessors and industry professionals who have supported the assessment process.
Each completed assessment represents more than a number. It represents an individual who has invested time and effort into developing their technical ability, industry knowledge and practical experience.
Thermal insulation is a highly skilled discipline that plays an essential role across a wide range of industries and projects. Ensuring that apprentices are assessed consistently and against recognised occupational standards helps protect the quality of workmanship across the sector.
The continued development of IETTL also supports the wider industry by helping employers identify individuals who have demonstrated the required level of competence. This provides confidence that those completing the apprenticeship are prepared for the demands and responsibilities of working within the thermal insulation sector.
Surpassing 400 assessments is therefore an achievement for everyone involved. It highlights the growing strength of the assessment process and the continued commitment to maintaining high standards within the industry.
From the first four-day assessment in Darlington to 401 assessments completed, IETTL has come a long way. The organisation will continue to build on this progress, supporting future apprentices and helping to ensure the thermal insulation workforce remains skilled, competent and prepared for the future.
